I’m excited to be joining the 7/24 outdoors family! I started as a police officer with St. Louis County in 1991 but my real passion is archery hunting. I harvested my first whitetail, an 8 pointer in 1995, at which time my obsession began. During this time frame I have arrowed approximately 70 deer, including 13 mature Pope and Young qualifying bucks. I used to relax through out the spring months. This was until 2004 when I started chasing turkeys. I now have 15 archery turkeys under my belt.
I am a proud member of the Gateway Chapter of the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA). To stay as educated as possible, I read the latest hunting articles every chance I get. There is only one consistent theme though…the only way to really learn about deer and deer behavior is to spend time in the woods. Luckily for me my wife Tracy, also a St. Louis County Police Officer, is very understanding and has started accompanying me into the woods in an attempt to arrow her first deer.
A new
chapter in my hunting lifestyle began when I along with my hunting partners Jason Klump, also a 7/24 Pro Staffer and Robert Poole, began videotaping our hunts. We have been working hard to lay down exciting footage and will be completing a D.V.D. in the near future.
My love of whitetails and antlers eventually drew me into the taxidermy profession, at which time I started Whitetail Creations Taxidermy (MODC permit #0018786). In between my law enforcement and hunting, I create artistic shoulder mounts of whitetail and mule deer.
Well that’s enough about me because it’s time to hit the woods and settle into my stand!
