The Big Bucks Are About To Break Loose!
I have been hunting everyday for the last eight days and have been frustrated with the warm weather and lack of buck sightings. I guess I should say mature buck sightings. I have been seeing plenty of bucks but they have been 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old bucks and they have been chasing does around my stands all week.
I keep going out day after day because I know what is just around the corner................. PRIME TIME! I believe that the moon phases and location throughout the day contribute to animal movement. And with this years full moon occuring on November 12th the prime pre-rut chasing period will fall between November 8th and 19th. You can bet that I, along with fellow 724 Outdoors and Commando Hunting Products prostaffer Jason Klump, will be in the deer woods everyday rain or shine.
I still love to hunt early season, however, nothing compares to rattling in a giant whitetail who comes charging in, with steam billowing out of his nostrils, looking for a fight!
And the timing of the cold front that is about to move through Missouri couldn't be better for us deer hunters so drop everything this weekend, dress warm and settle into your stand.
