I guess since it's August we can't complain about the heat and hhigh humidity, but it was hotter than heck with very little breeze. However, that didn't stop the thirty-three (33) teams from chomping at the bit to catch a limit of bass and claim first place in the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament. Just like last week's tournament the bite was slow and almost non-existent for most of the teams. There were only eight teams who brought a four fish limit to the scales. What was unusual is the small non-keepers were not biting like they normally do.
The anglers who were fortunate to catch keepers varied as far as the bait and depth they got bass. Some said they got bit shallow and some said they were bit as deep as twenty five feet. Plastic baits and jigs were the best bite with brush being the key.
Next week's tournament will be a Bass Cat Quest Incentive sponsored by Bass Cat Boats and Marty's Marine, in Osage Beach. All you Bass Cat Boat owners need to show up at PB#2, Wednesday, August 17th. Take off is 6:30 pm.
Big Bass of the tournamnt weighed 5.07 pounds caught by the team of Gary & Travis Tune.
