There's no doubt the "dog days" of summer are here. Last night the thirty-seven (37) teams verified that old adage by the amount of four fish limits brought to the scales. Out of the thirty-seven teams just six teams brought limits to the scales. There were only five bass weighing 3 pounds, two bass weighing 4 pounds and one bass weighing 5.02 pounds for big bass of the tournament. Catching bass was not the problem, the problem was catching fifiteen inch keepers.
The best bite, according to some anglers, was plastic worms and jigs fished twelve to twenty feet in and round brush piles on main points and docks.
Big bass of the tournament (5.02 lbs.) was caught by the team of Scott Stonitsch and Robby Cox who also won the tournament with a weight of 14.51 pounds.
2nd. Dan Bowman & Dirk Sluyter 11.59 lbs.
3rd. Bob Bueltmann & Bob Renken 10.83 lbs.
4th. Gary Shultz & Scott Melton 10.42 lbs.
5th. James Lewis & Tony Houston 9.24 lbs.
Free entry for next week's Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament was drawn by the team of Colby Shadrick and Codi Stonitsch.
