Last night was unbelievable. It rained cats and dogs most of the tournament hours, but that didn't deter the thirty (30) teams from fishing the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament nor did it have any effect on the bass. The bite was on for most of the anglers and some good 2 to 4 pound bass including a couple of 4 pounders were brought to the 10:00 pm weigh-in.
The lake came up a foot since the heavy rains and according to the weatherman there is more rain headed to Lake of the Ozarks. Because of the rise, some of the anglers said they caught their bass shallow in brush and behind docks on worms, jigs and top water baits.
Big bass of the tournament weighed 5.57 pounds caught by the father/son team of Scott,Sr. and Scott, Jr. Danek, who also won the tournament with a four fish limit weighing 15.47 pounds.
Free entry for next week's Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament was drawn by the father/son team of Gary and Travis Tune.
Next week's tournament, July 20th, will be a Bass Cat's Quest Incentive sponsored by Bass Cat Boats and Marty's Marine of Osage Beach. All Bass Cat owners need to fish the tournament and try to win the incentive money.
