Another great evening to fish and according to the forty-five (45) anglers who fished the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament the bass were biting good. However, the 4 to 6 pound largemouth were not as co-operative as the 2 to 3 pounders. There were seven 4 pound and three 5 pound bass brought to the scales, and a bunch of 2 and 3 pounders.
The bass are still fairly shallow for this time of year, 6 to 12 feet, but some are being caught in and around deep brush piles. Jigs, Power worms and crankbaits have been the best bite.
Big bass of the tournament weighed a hefty 5.99 pounds caught by the third place team of Andy Newcomb and Aaron Strohkirch. Second big bass of the tournament weighed 5.73 pounds caught by the tournamnet winner's, Brandon Heckert and Troy Patterson who brought an impressive four fish limit to the scales weighing 16.22.
Another Bass Cat Quest Incentive is scheduled for the next Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament on July 6th. All you Bass Cat owners need to show up.
Troy Patterson, manager of Big O Tire Company, in Osage Beahc donated a $25.00 gift certificate to Bob and Julie Reed who were one place out of the money with 12.80 pounds.
Free entry for next week's tournament was drawn by brothers, Tyler and Mike Pohle.
