After a torrential rain storm prior to take-off, the temperature finally dropped into the low 80's after hitting a daytime high of 100 degrees. Although it cooled down considerably, only eighteen (18) teams showed up for the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament. In addition to the 100 degree temperatures, gasoline prices shot up and that doesn't help the tournament or recreation angler.
Just like last week, the non-keeper bass, 13 to 14 inches, were jumping in the boat during the 3 1/2 hour tournament, but not the keeper bass. Of the eighteen teams, there were only four, 5 fish limits weighed. However, the tournament ends at 10:00 P.M., so there might be a later bite.
Big Bass of the tournament weighed 5.46 pounds and was caught by the team of Jeff Beauchamp and Win Stevens.
Free entry for next week's Missouri Anglers Wednesday Night Tournament was drawn by the team of Dave Phelps and Mike Ireland.
