The Lewis Boats Open Spring Tournament was held this past Saturday April 14, 2012. The event was held out of the very angler friendly Robins Resort, www.robisnresort.com. With 6 years of events under his belt Greg Lewis did another fantabulous job from start to finish! The brauts and giveaways were awesome. Each angler walked away with something.

The day started off with clouds and storms in the distance. Standing on the point at Robins Resort looking off to the right at the Hwy 54 bridge a number of lighting flashes could be seen prior to take off. The lake was low. The dock talk was good with the patterns varying from plastics to jigs to spinner baits. It was for sure that the numbers of fish brought to the scales would large.

The event was MC’d by Ryan Horrell of Bass World Sport Tournament Association, www.bassworldsports.com. Ryan has done a great job of moderating at past events and did the same at this one!

There were 38 boats that fished the event. All but two (2) teams brought in a 5 fish limit! There were 136 fished brought to the scales weighing in at a total of a little over 424 lbs. Three fish brought to the scales tipped the 6lb mark and 3 weighed in were in the 5lb range.\

Even the little guys fish this event! The team of Doug & Hudson (age 7) Henzlik brought in a bag of 5 tipping the scales at 18.64 lbs. Hudson had one over 4 lbs.

Listen below to how the top three check cashing teams caught their limits.
