Victory Lane Ford held their 2nd Annual Bass Tournament this past weekend on Litchfield Lake aka Lake Lou Yeager. The tournament has definitely grown! The teams jumped from 17 at last year’s event to 35 boats this year. The power of 724 Outdoors is truly amazing! There is just a hand full of 100% payback events and this is one of them. At 35 teams fishing the total payout was over $2300!! This is not mentioning the dinner after the event at Victory Lane Ford headquarters located in Litchfield, IL or their $200 given for big bass. Great job guys!!

 Burgers, drinks, and side.

I hadn’t been to the lake since last year’s event. But I remember last years weights were on the low side. Not this time! The lake was giving up some quality fish. There were three in the five-pound range and one over six. Because of the weather the patterns varied from catching post spawn to spawning fish, as you’ll hear below during the video interviews. On with the stats!

First place went to the team of Michael Hamilton of Maryland Heights, MO and Donald Bower of Wentzville, MO. These guys had some serious mindset going on. They weighed in 5 fish tipping the scales at 16.02 pounds. Their sack was anchored by a 5.53 lb largemouth and good for $1050. Listen below to how they caught their phenomenal sack.

2nd place went to the father and son team of Gary & Kyle Denny both of Livingston, IL, These guys weighed 5 fish hitting the scales at 12.35 pounds good for $420. Check out the video below.

Their sack was anchored by a 5.05-pound Litchfield Lake largemouth. This weight was good for $315. Hear below how they caught their fish.

Big Bass of the day at 6.45 pounds was good for a $200 check went to the team of Steve Grizzle of Edwardsville, IL and Marc Rehg of Belleville, IL.

This is a very good and well-run event. Gene and his Victory Lane Ford staff do a wonderful job. A special thanks to Chelsey for the paperwork provided to me. Check out Victory lane Ford on line at www.teamvictorylane.com
