Got out on Thousand Hills yesterday for the first time in a while and the fishing was alright but not what I expected it to be. I caught three fish on the day but they were all nice keepers. The weirdest thing is that they all came off of channel swing banks with a about 14 feet of water out front. One of them came off a laydown the other two out of the bushes. I missed two opertunites on the day to get keepers. One of the them swam out of the brush and bumped my swim jig and looked over 3lb....the other one actually broke me off. That is why you don't use 12lb line when doing this...it was all I had stringed up though.Seems like the bite is still pretty good. It was weird to not catch any shorts all day. Sometimes you cannot keep them off your line at Thousand Hills. At least I got out to test some new skirting material. The living image colors are something else on a jig. The water temp was 54 to 53 degrees no matter where I was on the lake. Didn't catch anything in the backs. I think the bass might be transitioning a little right now after catching some keeps on the channelswing banks. It won't be long before it gets too cold to even get the boat wet up here. Going to try to get out as much as possible. Until next time keep it reel. Photo of the day in my photos album.
