The bass fishing is picking up at Kincaid. With summer finally coming to a close the water temperatures are starting to come down. This is one of the best times to fish the lake up until the water drops into the 40's.
On the day, I caught 25 bass, with two keepers over the 16 inch limit. Early in the morning a small white spinnerbait was the ticket. As the day was quite clear and gusting, a green pumpkin tube fished in and around the coontail and stumps drew the most bites.
Fishing is only going to get better as the water cools. A spinnerbait is working well in the dingy water and a tube or any type of small plastic with a heavy weight in green pumpkin is the go to bait in the coontail. If weather conditions are good, there's a good frog bite.
And beware there are monsters in the lake. Monster muskies and they are moving into the shallows, so hold on you might catch a giant.
