Winter Blues!

As Ice fishing awaits and the opportunity to do so is hampered by nice weather, I would like to share some of the ways that I pass the winter blues! One of the best ways to pass the time is to make bass fishing jigs from a desired mold then paint them and apply skirts. A task that is a goal for the next year is to pour my own soft plastics. I've progressed from the jigs to spinnerbaits and buzzbaits which make it great when you catch a nice bass on your own creation give some gratification. Rod building is another challenge that is a great way to pass the winter.

Ice fishing is a fun adventure in its own! The tackle is very light and can provide many hours of fun entertainment. The tackle gives something to playing a fish in to land it in a 6" hole if a bass hits the jig watch out it will be a battle to the test of your patience. Be safe when ice fishing! Always plan ahead and let someone know the location of your outing.

Till next time Fish on!
