Lake of the Ozarks Report
The bite continues to be really good on Lake of the Ozarks. Right now you need to catch over 25lbs to win a local tournament and I wouldn't get too excited about your chances unless you are catching 4 and 5lb fish with regularity. On Sunday a local tournament took 25lbs to win.
The last time out we got into some big fish and had around 27lbs to 28lbs with our best 5. This cold snap we had the other day really turned the bite on and the big ones are starting to chomp. The whole key to catching these big bass is finding the key areas in the creeks and on the main lake where they are stopping.
The best baits this past week have been stickbaits, jigs, grubs, and shallow running crankbaits fished really slow. If we get a lot of wind and some cloud cover you can speed up your retrieve. Check out the picks from our big day on the water last week. We caught some toads!
