Black Bass – Good on 3/8 to 1/2 oz jigs.  Peanut Butter and Jelly and Green Missouri Craw w/craw or twin tail 4″ trailers.  Also good on a variety of Crank Baits on the main lake rock bluffs.  Square bill to deep diving DD22′S are catching bass right now.  Have a Plum or Blue Fleck 10″ worm ready as well.

Walleye – Good on shallow running crank baits.  Chartreuse Pearl, Firetiger and Chrome & Blue have been working well.  A #7 Flicker Shad is still producing the most hits.  Also have had good results bottom bouncing night crawler on the sand flats in about 20 ft.

Crappie – Good to Fair on live minnows.  Look for crappie in deeper water over brush piles and stumps.  Many crappie are coming out of 20 ft water.

Fishing Tip of the Week: Keep an eye to the sky during these hot days and never underestimate the power of a pop-up thunderstorm. A blue sky with popcorn clouds can turn blustery with torrential rain and lightning strikes in moments. Don’t assume the storm is going to miss you when you’re on an open lake or wading a creek. Be sure you have a clear path to safety in case the skies open.
